With our size and global reach, Mott MacDonald’s
presence and activities can have significant local impact. We want
to make that impact positive
Mott MacDonald's strong ethos of caring goes hand-in-hand with
our employee ownership and long-term strategic focus. We seek to
make a positive difference through the projects we deliver and the
way we behave.
We believe working to achieve the greatest benefit for clients,
staff, society and the environment contributes to our own success.
Since 2007 we have been reporting annually on our performance,
helping us evaluate strengths and identify areas for
improvement.
Our latest
Corporate
Responsibility Report› sets out how we seek to care for our
customers, our staff, the communities among which we work and our
local and global environments to sustain a robust and healthy
business.
Highlights from 2010/11:
- Our customers gave us an overall feedback score of 84%. This
was up 1% on the previous year and 7% ahead of our best competitor
– but the gap is closing.
- We achieved a 10% reduction in lost time accidents while
reporting of potentially unsafe situations rose by 30%, indicating
continuing success in embedding a strong safety culture across the
Group.
- Mott MacDonald was voted first for acting to protect the
environment in the Sunday Times’ Best Companies survey and we have
now committed to work with project partners to halve the volume of
construction waste disposed of in landfill sites.
- The UK engineering apprenticeship programme we initiated in
2010 is growing in London, with new apprenticeships launched in two
other cities.
You’ll see that the report contains links to Group policies, our
other core publications and project summaries illustrating how
we’re driving environmental sustainability and delivering community
benefit.
